A pothole is where the surface of the road has been eroded and a hollow has formed.
Sydenham Hill
- Lewisham Council only maintain Sydenham Hill from the northern arm of Crescent Wood Road to 171 Sydenham Hill
- the rest of Sydenham Hill (the southern arm of Crescent Wood Road up to the junction of Westwood Hill) is maintained by Southwark Council - you can call them on 020 7525 5000
- 173 Sydenham Hill to the junction of London Road is part of the Red Route network and is maintained by Transport for London (TfL) - report a defect to TfL or call 0343 222 1234
Who is responsible

We are responsible for all public roads in the borough except red routes.

Red routes are maintained by Transport for London. Call 0845 305 1234 for potholes on red routes.

Roads on estates are maintained by your housing association and you should contact them if there is a pothole on the road. See a list of housing associations and contact details.
Pothole repairs

You can report any pothole but we will send an inspector to assess whether a repair can be carried out.

If the pothole is too small we cannot fix it as the repair material does not stay in the hole.
