Potholes

A pothole is where the surface of the road has been eroded and a hollow has formed.

Who is responsible

  • We are responsible for all public roads in the borough except red routes.

  • Red routes are maintained by Transport for London. Call 0845 305 1234 for potholes on red routes.

  • Roads on estates are maintained by your housing association and you should contact them if there is a pothole on the road. See a list of housing associations and contact details.

Pothole repairs

  • You can report any pothole but we will send an inspector to assess whether a repair can be carried out.

  • If the pothole is too small we cannot fix it as the repair material does not stay in the hole.
