Animal fouling and dead animals

Report animal fouling or a dead animal.

Reporting animal fouling

You can report animal fouling using the Love Clean Streets website or app. You can download the app from the Apple App or Google Play stores.

Dog fouling

We take a zero-tolerance approach to dog fouling on our streets and in our parks and open spaces. Help create a Cleaner Lewisham by ensuring you clean up after your dog.

When walking your dog, make sure you have bags or a poop scoop to clean up any mess. Every time your dog fouls, bag it and bin it.

Reporting dead animals

If you find a dead animal in a public area or on the street, you can report it using the Love Clean Streets website or app. The app is available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

If you find a deceased animal in your garden, please follow these steps:

  1. double-bag the animal
  2. place it at the edge of your property which should be a public highway – our teams cannot enter private properties
  3. report it to us on the Love Clean Streets app or Love Clean Streets website and we will arrange for its removal

Please note that we do not provide a service to remove deceased pets from inside homes or private properties.

We aim to remove reported dead animals within 24 hours, excluding weekends and bank holidays.

We are unable to remove dead animals from railway tracks. These should be reported directly to Network Rail.
