Our public health approach to reducing violence
Read about our approach for reducing violence in the borough.
Violence ruins lives – not just those of the victims, but their families, friends and colleagues too – and we all have a role to play in finding a solution.
That’s why we are taking a 'public health' approach to the problem. It’s a way of tackling violence that has had success around the world. It puts the local community at its core, bringing people together to have conversations and find solutions.
To help with this approach, we have been working with:
- the police
- schools
- religious and community groups
- the voluntary sector.
