What prior knowledge, experience and qualifications will I need?
Basic IT skill are needed for this course as well as enthusiasm and a desire to learn.There will be a pre-course assessment.
Learning Goals:
To develop mouse skills and familiarisation with a computer keyboard
To identify drives/removable drives/memory stick and navigate around them
To become familiar with MS Office 2016
To self-assess your progress through the course and create a portfolio of evidence of learning and achievement on the course
What teaching methods will the tutor use?
Within this small supportive class, your tutor may use the following teaching methods that will be inclusive for all abilities and levels, so that all learners make good progress towards their goals: demonstrations, discussions, 1:1 support and practical group activities.
What assessment methods will the tutor use?
Assessment may include: informal question and answer, feedback, self-assessment, quizzes, games, portfolios and case studies.
Will extra work be required outside the class times?
It will be beneficial for you to practise what you have learnt in class in your everyday life and you may be asked by your tutor to complete something specific to enhance your new skills and improve your confidence.
What materials will I need for the course and how much will they cost?
Learners can buy their own USB memory stick/CD-ROM to save their work and take with them at the end of term.
What do I need to bring to the first class?
A4 file, a pen and paper
