Lewisham 2030 launches

Lewisham 2030 is aimed at defining our shared hopes and aspirations for the borough to the end of this decade.

It is an ambitious project which is committed to preserving and improving the best parts of Lewisham while addressing what matters most to our communities. We will work closely with our partners across the borough to focus on the needs and aspirations of people in Lewisham, working together to achieve more than any one organisation could alone.

There will be different ways to get involved so we can hear from as many people as possible who live, work and study in Lewisham. This week we have launched our online survey, which takes just 10 minutes to complete and is available in different formats on request. Over the summer we will be sharing more opportunities to shape the plan, including toolkits for schools and local groups to host their own conversations. Events will be shared across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Lewisham 2030 events will also be listed in libraries and community spaces.

Mayor of Lewisham, Damien Egan, said:

“We want to hear from as many people as possible and for them to share their ideas, no matter how big or small. As well as launching our online survey we will be talking to people with in-person events including ward assemblies and summer pop-ups.

“Your input is invaluable as we collectively explore what the future of Lewisham should look like and identify the steps needed to achieve it.

“By bringing together partners from across Lewisham, we can shape a better and more inclusive Lewisham for generations to come.”

The ultimate goal is to craft the Lewisham 2030 Community Action Plan, set to launch in Spring 2024. This collaborative plan will embody the shared vision for Lewisham as a vibrant place to live, work, study, visit and invest in.
