Cllr Oana Olaru-Holmes is appointed Cabinet Member for Safer Lewisham, Refugees and Equalities

Cllr Oana Olaru-Holmes has been appointed Cabinet Member for Safer Lewisham, Refugees and Equalities.

Mayor of Lewisham Brenda Dacres said: 
“I’m pleased to appoint Cllr Oana Olaru-Holmes as the new Cabinet Member for Safer Lewisham, Refugees and Equalities. These are key priorities for the Council and areas I know Oana is passionate about.

“Oana is a committed ward councillor in Downham and has worked hard in her role on various committees and as a Cabinet Advisor on violence against women and girls. I’m looking forward to working more closely with her.”

“It is an honour to join Cabinet and work towards making Lewisham a safer place for all and to continue the pioneering work on the Borough of Sanctuary. 

“I am looking forward to working alongside the Mayor, my Cabinet colleagues, council officers, residents and local partners, especially the local police and voluntary sector organisations.”

Cllr Olaru-Holmes has been a ward councillor in Downham since 2022 and has been a Cabinet Advisor on violence against women and girls. 

The Cabinet post became vacant following the resignation of former councillor Juliet Campbell who, following the recent general election, is now an MP.
