Delegated powers

The majority of planning applications are dealt with under delegated powers.
We have made some changes to our planning service

These are mainly minor applications which generate little or no public interest. Designated Officers carefully consider the recommendations which are made by the Case Officer and the decision is agreed and issued by the designated officer.

Applications that are not determined under delegated powers

Applications that have received three or more objections that are material planning considerations, are referred to Planning Committee. If the application that is being submitted is a Council owned development for example a school or Council building then this will also be automatically referred to Planning Committee.
