Grenfell Anniversary – three years on

Sunday 14 June 2020 will be the 3rd anniversary of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

Laurence House going green for Grenfell 2020As coronavirus continues to disrupt our daily lives, marking this day will be different with survivors, bereaved families and communities coming together online to remember, reflect and unite on social media.

Councillor Paul Bell, Cabinet member for Housing said:

“On Sunday, we will all pause and remember the Grenfell anniversary. We will not forget the failings of public policy that led to this terrible tragedy that claimed so many lives.

“Everyone deserves a safe home. Together with Lewisham Homes, we are continually learning and improving to provide safe, quality homes for all our residents. Our priority is always to safeguard and protect residents.

Margaret Dodwell, Chief Executive of Lewisham Homes said:

This weekend, the Council building will be illuminated in green alongside homes across the nation as we ‘Go Green for Grenfell’.

Lewisham Council stands behind this important cause and we encourage everyone in the borough to illuminate their own home green to show unity and take a moment to observe the reflections on the Go Green for Grenfell website.
