Selective licensing

From 1 July 2024, most private rental properties in Lewisham will need a licence. Landlords with licensable properties who have not applied for a licence will be committing an offence.

Apply before 20 August to benefit from a 20% early bird discount.

Shared ownership

You can purchase an initial share (between 25% and 75%) of a property, and pay rent to the Council on the remaining share.

Subletting a leasehold property

You don't need permission from us to rent out your leasehold property - but you must tell us if you do.

We will aim to provide EWS1 forms wherever required and will be led by the results of Intrusive External Wall Surveys (PAS 9980) being carried out.
