Headteacher's message

At St Matthew Academy, we strive for excellence in all we do. Our unique, rich offer supports students to become successful and confident learners. We are incredibly ambitious for every pupil. We are committed to ensuring that they excel academically and have enriching experiences that equip them for life. We promise to nurture their talent and cultivate their ambitions, ensuring they build on the foundations learned in primary school and develop the skills needed for success in the modern world. We offer many opportunities for pupils to enhance their academic and personal development, including our Media + Communication and Sporting Brilliance scholarships and Grammar + pathways. We support each pupil through a shared ethos and consistent pastoral care, our motto, Let Your Light Shine, is taken from the Gospel of Matthew and captures our belief in the unique quality and ability of every child. I am immensely proud to be headteacher at St Matthew Academy and of our hard-working and self-assured pupils, dedicated staff and the strong working relationship with parents and carers that the academy benefits from.
