Bowel cancer screening

In Lewisham, all men and women aged between 60 and 75 years who are registered with a local GP are invited to take part in a bowel screening test.
Can't find what you're looking for or worried about someone's safety?

Contact Lewisham Council.

Between your 60th and 62nd birthday, you will receive a letter telling you about the screening programme and how it works. About a week later, you will receive a test kit with step-by-step instructions on how to complete the test at home and how to send the samples to the laboratory.

You will receive the results of the tests carried out on the sample within two weeks. Your GP is not involved in the screening programme but they will be told of the results.
