How to join

Join at any of our libraries with proof of your name and address:

• proof can be paper or electronic and should show your full name and current address
• acceptable documents include a driving licence, council tax bill or household bill dated within the last 3 months
• you will then be given a library card, and will be able to borrow items straight away

Alternatively you can sign up online for immediate access to our library Wi-Fi, eLibrary and online resources.

If you'd like to borrow physical books and other items you will then need to visit a library with proof of your name and address to receive your library card.

If you are 13 or under 

• You need a parent, legal guardian or teacher to act as your guarantor.

• You need to give us your date of birth. This is because some of our books have age restrictions, and because some of our fees vary according to your age.
