About the Sydenham Centre
The Sydenham Centre is a vibrant community space that holds a mix of local organisations, events, activities and services for local and vulnerable people. The Centre’s main focus is around arts, dance, physical movement and wellbeing activities. The Sydenham Centre provides the following: day activities for people with learning disabilities micro-brewery which provides training and employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities hireable activity space. Resident user groups Sydenham Arts Ignition Brewery. Regular activities yoga pilates dance classes productions – a variety of sessions and performances take place at the centre on a daily basis day centre groups community activities Adult Learning Lewisham Councillor Surgeries – Sydenham Ward Sydenham film club Spontaneous Productions.
Facilities available to hire Studio (on lower ground floor) – max capacity 100 standing – space designated for physical movement work. Main hall (on second floor) – max capacity 160 standing or 100 seated Activity room (on second floor) – available evenings & weekends only – max capacity 35 seated. The space is available for performance, dance, health and wellbeing groups. At this time we are not taking bookings for larger scale events such as parties, weddings and christenings.
Public transport links Bus – the centre is located on Sydenham Road, the main high street of the area, and as such is served by many buses, including the 75, 202, 194 and 450. Train – the centre is in walking distance from Sydenham Station. There is no parking available at this site. There is on-street parking in the surrounding streets.
