Residents invited to help shape Lewishams future

Lewisham residents are being encouraged to have their say on the borough's future by taking part in a new survey that will help shape the Council's Plan for Lewisham.

Hundreds of residents, community groups and partners have already contributed their views through a series of focus groups and engagement sessions. Now the Council is inviting all residents to take part in a short online survey, which takes around 10 minutes to complete.

The survey asks for feedback on the Council's proposed priorities over the coming years. These priorities will help shape a new Plan for Lewisham that reflects the ambitions, needs and aspirations of people who live, work and study in our borough.

The plan will focus on creating a borough where everyone can thrive, with priorities centred on improving opportunities, tackling inequalities, supporting healthier communities, strengthening neighbourhoods, building a sustainable future and ensuring residents remain at the heart of decision-making.

Mayor of Lewisham, Liam Shrivastava, said:

"Since being elected, we’ve worked hard to deliver the improvements local people have told us they want to see, from tackling fly tipping and supporting residents through the cost-of-living crisis, to building new homes and taking action on climate change – but there is so much more to do.

“It is important that residents help shape what comes next. Our new Plan for Lewisham will set out our priorities for the years ahead, and we want it to reflect the experiences, ideas and ambitions of the people who know Lewisham best – you.

"We want residents to be at the heart of the changes and improvements we make, so please take 10 minutes to complete the survey and help us build a fairer, greener and more inclusive Lewisham."

Residents can find out more and complete the survey online.

The survey closes on 1 November.
