Mayor announces new Cabinet

Newly elected Mayor of Lewisham, Liam Shrivastava, has confirmed his Cabinet team, who will support him in delivering his priorities for the borough.

Mayor Shrivastava has responsibility for overall budget, strategy and political leadership. His portfolio also includes the Bakerloo Line Extension, the Local Strategic Partnership and police accountability.  

The full Cabinet: 

  • Cllr Rudi Schmidt: Deputy Mayor and Finance, Resources and Economic Development 
  • Cllr Ade Adewunmi: Strategy, Performance and Digital Transformation 
  • Cllr Daniel Dream: Inclusive Regeneration, Planning and Housing Delivery 
  • Cllr Natalie Thomas: Safer Homes, Homelessness and Housing Services 
  • Cllr Rotimi Skyers: Children, SEND, Youth Empowerment and Culture 
  • Cllr Samantha Gardiner: Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care 
  • Cllr Hau-Yu Tam: Communities, Sanctuary and Healing 
  • Cllr Shireen Asaw: Workers, Business and Skills
  • Cllr Corin Ashwell: Environment, Nature, Transport and Climate Action 

Mayor Shrivastava said: “I’m really excited to be working with such a diverse and talented group of councillors, who care so much about our borough. This is a Cabinet who really represents Lewisham; a mix of professional expertise and lived experience, with the passion and drive to do things differently and deliver our ambitious plans for the borough. 

“I’m looking forward to sharing more about our early priorities, which are based on what we heard on the doorsteps and what residents have shared with us, as well as our experience as residents across Lewisham.”
