Support organisations for disabled people

There are many groups that support disabled adults and their families.

They can help with advice, learning, activities, and making friends. Some are based in Lewisham. Others work across the country.

Local organisations and social groups 

Helps people with learning disabilities speak up and be heard. 
They run men’s, women’s, and mixed self-advocacy groups, plus online music sessions.

Support for parents and carers of young people with disabilities or additional needs. Workshops, coffee mornings, and support networks. 

Creative arts and music group based in Deptford. For people with learning disabilities or autism. Offers clubs, workshops, and performances.

  • Community Connections Lewisham 

Helps adults find social activities, classes, and support in their area. Great for people who are feeling lonely or want to try something new.

Connects people who want to give and receive time and skills locally. You earn "time credits" by helping others. 

Support for people with learning disabilities to find and keep a job.
