Lewisham lane rental consultation
The London Borough of Lewisham is proposing to introduce a Lane Rental Scheme across selected parts of its road network.
This initiative is being taken forward in accordance with the Street Works (Charges for Occupation of the Highway) (England) Regulations 2012 (the Lane Rental Regulations), established under Section 74A of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA).
In line with the Lane Rental Schemes: Guidance for English Highway Authorities issued by the Department for Transport, the London Borough of Lewisham has commenced a formal consultation period. This consultation began on 20 February 2026 and will conclude on 23 March 2026.
