Apply for British citizenship
Find out about the COVID-19 restrictions.
BrexitIf you are thinking of applying for UK residency, see our Brexit guidance for the latest advice on how the UK leaving the EU may affect you.
It is with regret that due to further COVID-19 restrictions all citizenship ceremonies are suspended until further notice.
All postponed citizenship ceremonies will take priority when restrictions are lifted and we hope to make extra availability to cover this.

Download a citizenship application form from GOV.UK.
Citizenship ceremony
If the Home Office approves your application for British citizenship, they will send you an invitation letter which will tell you who to contact to book your citizenship ceremony.
Your citizenship ceremony will take place at either the Civic Suite in Catford or the register office in Lewisham.
Citizenship preparation courses
Our adult education service offers a preparation course for SELT Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) Grade 5 (B1 CEFR).
The course will prepare you thoroughly for your citizenship exam in English, and we will help you book your exam.
