Free removal of unwanted vehicles

We can remove old and unwanted vehicles free of charge for residents living in the borough. We do this to prevent people abandoning their cars elsewhere.
Telephones

We're currently experiencing technical issues with our telephone system and are working with our supplier to resolve them as quickly as possible.

You may experience connectivity issues and longer wait times as a result.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding while we restore normal service.

Please complete the online form below to request for a vehicle to be removed.

You will need to provide a copy of:

  • the vehicle log book (V5C)
  • proof you live in the borough (for example, a recent utility or council tax bill).

These documents can be uploaded via the online form, posted, or submitted in person to the vehicle enforcement department, Wearside service centre, Wearside road, SE13 7EZ.

Do you have an account?

To request removal of an unwanted vehicle you will need a Lewisham Council account. If you don’t have an account already, please setup an account now and then return to this screen to make your request.

How to qualify

To qualify for this service, you must live in the borough and your vehicle must be registered in the borough.

We remove cars, motorbikes and small vans. We do not remove caravans, lorries or any vehicle containing rubbish.

What happens next

Once you have completed the online form, and we receive copies of your documents, we will arrange for the unwanted vehicle to be removed within five working days.
