This year’s spectacular features a large-scale firework display set to music, alongside live entertainment, fairground rides, craft beer festival, food stalls and family-friendly activities. Around 30,000 people are expected to attend and the Council is working closely with event organisers Slammin Events to ensure a safe and enjoyable evening for all.
Highlights include a covered arena with live music and DJs – including Spoony – and a Big Top hosting comedy and, the ever popular, Massaoke. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of food and drink from local traders, and plenty of family-friendly activities to keep the children entertained.
Slammin Events is a London-based events company that runs a variety of large-scale events including the annual, and hugely successful, fireworks display at Alexandra Palace.
Councillor Sakina Sheikh – Cabinet Member for Culture, Communities and Sports – said:
“We know how much Lewisham residents have missed Blackheath Fireworks, so we’re delighted to be working with Slammin Events to bring it back with a fantastic evening of entertainment for the whole community to enjoy, right here within the borough.
“We’ve worked hard to keep ticket prices affordable and inclusive with family ticket bundles. We are also making a number of tickets available to some of the borough’s brilliant foster carers, as a small thank you for the big difference they make.
“For the past few years, Lewisham residents have had to leave the borough to seek fireworks displays elsewhere in London. We have been eager to find a way to bring back Blackheath Fireworks and are delighted that our residents can enjoy fireworks here at home and invite visitors to join.”
Tickets are £16 for ages 16 and above, £10 for 11-15 year olds and £5 for under-10s, with family packages starting at £40.
