Remembrance Sunday - 9 November 2025

Civic Service and parade at Lewisham War Memorial

Lewisham

Lewisham’s Civic Service and parade is taking place at Lewisham War Memorial, Lewisham High Street (directly opposite Lewisham Hospital).

The service will be held at Lewisham War Memorial on Lewisham High Street led by Fr David Adamson-Hill of St Mary the Virgin, with participation from Council Members, Faith Leaders and Deputy Lieutenant Sir Steve Bullock. There will also be an Armed Forces parade from Local Armed Services units at the start of it. 

There will be a two minute silence at 11am during the service and the service will end around 11.40am. 

Deptford

Deptford's Civic Service is taking place at the Deptford War Memorial on the corner of Lewisham Way and Upper Brockley Road.

The service will be held at Deptford War Memorial on Lewisham Way led by the Rev Chris Hanning of St John’s Church, with participation from Council Members, Local Faith Leaders, and Deputy Lieutenant Kate Heaps.

There will be a two-minute silence at 11am during the service and the Service will end at 11.40pm.

Hither Green Chapel

The Chapel at Hither Green Cemetery and Crematorium will be open on Remembrance Sunday from 10am to 3pm, offering a peaceful space for reflection and remembrance.
