Restoring Ladywell Playtower

The Council is seeking a committed partner to restore and secure the future of Ladywell Playtower, a cherished Grade II listed landmark.

Ladywell Playtower, an impressive Victorian Bath House built in 1884, is one of the country’s earliest public swimming pools and a fine example of Gothic architecture.

After years of neglect following its closure and subsequent fire damage, the Council is launching a fresh Restoration Partner Search to breathe new life into this historic site for generations to come.

To shape this exciting opportunity, we are inviting community feedback and expressions of interest from potential partners. Your input will help ensure that future plans reflect local aspirations and celebrate the building’s heritage.

Have your say and get involved:

  • Community feedback survey: Open from 18 December 2025 to 29 January 2026
  • Expressions of interest: Potential partners can apply from 18 December 2025 to 28 February 2026

Find details on how have your say, expressing interest and the wider partner search process.
