New-look Ladywell Fields skatepark is ready to roll!

The upgraded skatepark, which is expected to attract even more visitors, features a great range of new equipment including a quarter pipe, jump box, flat bank, grind rail and driveway ramp – creating a space that skateboarders, roller skaters, inline skaters, BMX riders and scooter users of all ages and abilities can enjoy.

The much-needed changes follow a £75k investment by partner Veolia which the Council match-funded with £7.5k through NCIL funding. The works which began in the spring were delivered by specialist skate park designers Fearless Ramps with input from local residents, community groups and skateboarders themselves.

“It’s fantastic to see the new and improved Ladywell Fields skatepark open and already being enjoyed by so many residents. The previous equipment was tired, outdated and increasingly unsafe. Thanks to this funding, it has been transformed into a modern space that reflects the growing popularity of skateboarding and other wheeled sports in the borough.

“As ever, this was a collaborative effort. A huge thank you to our partners Veolia and Glendale, as well as local residents, the Friends of Ladywell Fields and skatepark users, whose feedback helped shape a space the whole community can enjoy.
