The Lewisham in Bloom competition returns to brighten our borough

We are delighted to announce the return of Lewisham in Bloom for residents to once again showcase their flowers, imagination and gardening skills.

Sponsored by Glendale, the Lewisham in Bloom competition recognises the importance of gardening and floral displays in the borough for physical and mental health, increased biodiversity and good environmental sustainability practices to make Lewisham a greener, brighter and healthy place to live.

Entries are welcomed from residents, community groups and businesses, giving recognition to all the talented gardeners across Lewisham. The 2025 categories are:

  • Best Wildlife Garden 
  • Best Front Garden
  • Best Containers 
  • Best Community Garden
  • Best Business 

Schools will be eligible to apply for the categories of Best Containers, Best Wildlife Garden and Best Community Garden. Category Winners will receive National Garden Vouchers plus, the Overall Best in Show will receive a new Lewisham in Bloom Award and the first 10 entries received will receive a free RSPB bird nesting box.

The judges will be looking for sustainability, overall use of space / design, planting choices, maintenance and impact of planting, biodiversity and community engagement. Applications for the Lewisham in Bloom competition will be open from Thursday 12 June to Monday 23 June 2025 and you can apply online. The judging period will be between Thursday 26 June to Monday 14 July 2025 with a winners’ celebration event hosted in the autumn.

Our residents are at the heart of what we do to make our borough a greener and healthier place for everybody so this is a wonderful way to encourage biodiversity and beautiful gardens and containers right across our community.
