Project information
This project involves the redevelopment of the Bear Church (within the Shaftesbury Centre) into a six-storey building with roof terraces. The development will provide a new church with ancillary community rooms and an ancillary cafe on the ground and first floors. It will also include 33 one-bedroom affordable flats above, together with a public space to the front of the building.
The scheme will provide medium term specialist housing for people aged 18 to 35 who are in housing need.
Residents will be nominated for accommodation by the London Borough of Lewisham. Alongside their tenancy, they will receive support from J49 housing and Bench Outreach staff who will provide residents with the support to maintain their tenancies, as well as assisting them into education, training, and employment.
