Improving Ladywell Fields

The multi-award-winning regeneration of Ladywell Fields was completed in spring 2011.

Following its £2 million makeover, funded by the London Development Agency, the park now boasts:

  • a cleaner, healthier river, with new backwaters

  • boardwalks, steps and gently sloping banks, enabling you to access the water

  • a dry river bed, with water pumps to play in

  • a new play area

  • an orchard

  • new footpaths, cycle paths and lighting

  • new tennis courts and pétanque (boules) pitches

  • meadow areas with wildflowers and new riverside planting.

The adventure playground is also now open, making Ladywell Fields the ideal place for riverside picnics, strolls and exploration.

Ladywell Fields forms part of the Waterlink Way - a riverside walking and cycling route forming a green spine through the borough from Sydenham to Deptford.
