The Coronation of his Majesty King Charles III: Here's how you can celebrate in Lewisham
The coronation of King Charles III and The Queen Consort will take place on Saturday 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey in London.
Well-wishers from Lewisham will be celebrating across the Bank Holiday weekend between Saturday 6 and Monday 8 May, with over 90 events planned.
There are 59 street parties confirmed, and the Council has funded 11 special community events alongside coronation concerts in Mountsfield and Beckenham Place Park and 21 events in the borough's libraries.
Deputy Mayor, Cllr Brenda Dacres said: “There are so many opportunities to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and the Queen Consort in Lewisham. Don’t miss out on getting involved in this historic occasion.
“We are encouraging the whole community to get involved with our events, and we’ve also had a great response from the public, who are holding their own events in neighbourhoods across Lewisham, bringing everyone together for the celebrations.”
