South east London markets you need to check out this summer

Residents voted for their favourites in the 2025 Mayor of Lewisham Business Awards, highlighting the markets they love most. The list below includes the past finalists and some additional popular markets run by the Council. The below is in no particular order: 

• Blackheath Farmers Market (Blackheath) - voted Best Market at the 2025 awards, this market is known for its high-quality local produce and friendly community atmosphere. The long-running Sunday market remains a favourite destination for food lovers from across the borough. Every Sunday from 10am until 2pm at Blackheath Station car park.
• Deptford Market (Deptford) - popular local market selling wide variety of goods including fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, multi-cultural food, haberdashery, clothing, shoes and fashion items, fabric, curtains and household items. Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday along Deptford High Street from 9am until 5.30pm.
• Brockley Market (Brockley) - a loved weekend destination known for artisan food, fresh produce and some of London's best independent traders. Open 10am until 2pm, Saturdays at Lewisham College Carpark.
• Catford Food Market (Catford) - a foodie-focused local market championing small food businesses and bringing great street food to the heart of Catford. Run by the Food Market Company who host Beckenham Place Park, Mountsfield Park and Sydenham Night Market. Every last Sunday of the month, 10am to 4pm next to Catford Bridge Train Station.
• Deptford Market Yard (Deptford) - a buzzing hub of food, drink and culture, packed with independent businesses beneath the railway arches. The next market is on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 August but visit the Deptford Market Yard website for the latest updates.
• Telegraph Hill Market (Telegraph Hill) - a popular weekly community market offering locally sourced food and handmade goods. Every Saturday from 10am to 3pm at Telegraph Hill Park.
• Sydenham Night Market - discover a new night market in Sydenham with local street food, a lively atmosphere and outdoor dining, supported by the Mayor of London’s Summer Streets programme. Every Friday until 18 September, from 5 to 10pm at a car-free space at Sydenham Station Approach.
• Lewisham Market (Lewisham) - historic market on Lewisham High Street running Monday to Saturday, 9am–6pm. Sells fresh produce, fabric, clothes, household goods and more. Sunday market, 10am-4pm, offers non-perishables.
• So Last Century (various locations) - a paradise for vintage lovers, offering retro fashion, homeware and one-of-a-kind finds. The next market is on Monday 31 August bank holiday at Beckenham Place Park. Visit the So Last Century website for more details.
• Queens Culture Market (various locations) - celebrating creativity, culture and small businesses through a series of lively community events.
• Beckenham Place Mansion Market (Bellingham) - combining great food and local traders in the beautiful Beckenham Place Park. Every Sunday from 10am until 3pm at the Mansion, Beckenham Place Park.
• Place to Bee (various locations) - a growing community market known for supporting local makers, artists and small businesses. Check their socials for the latest market dates and locations.
