Kim Wright to step down as Chief Executive

Lewisham Council’s Chief Executive, Kim Wright, has announced that she will be leaving the Council to take up the role of Chief Executive at Brent Council.

Kim Wright said: “It has been a very hard decision to move on and not one that I came to easily. Lewisham is a fantastic place, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working here and it will always be special to me. I would like to thank staff, partners and residents for their support not only to me personally, but also to the Borough, especially during a very challenging few years. The strength of our communities and partnerships shines through and I am proud to have been a part of it.”

Damien Egan, Mayor of Lewisham, said: “I’m grateful for Kim’s contribution to Lewisham, she has supported the Council through some real challenges and we’ve shared some great successes.  As a Council we’ve changed a lot in the three years that Kim has been our Chief Executive and she leaves us well placed for our next exciting chapter.”

Kim is expected to start her new post in May and future arrangements will be announced in due course.
