Housing Services roadshow and resident celebration event
Lewisham Council tenants and leaseholders were invited to the in-person event at Goldsmiths, University of London's Stuart Hall building on Wednesday 19 March.
An initial market place saw lots of residents meeting with our staff from a variety of teams, alongside contractors and community organisations to ask questions and discuss any problems they have with our services. Residents told us they liked being able to see people face to face – a key part of our new resident engagement strategy.
Teams who attended included:
- Adult Learning Lewisham
- Building Safety team
- Estates Environment: a team within Housing that looks after any communal bits of land associated with Housing properties.
- Fire Safety team
- Housing Management team
- Lettings team
- Policy (Housing)
- Private Sector Housing
- Repairs team
- Welfare Benefits team
- Masher Brothers: one of our main repairs contractors
- Mulalley & Co: one of our main contractors
- Smith & Byford: one of our heating contractors
- Trading Places: a scheme for tenants wishing to move into a smaller home
This was followed by a short ceremony celebrating residents who have given their time to support their neighbours and communities. Presented by Lewisham Mayor Brenda Dacres, the awards were a chance to recognise and celebrate our residents, their many contributions and all the work they do for the local community.
