Catherine Mbema wins London General Practice Local Authority Award
The new award category recognises exceptional collaboration, partnership working and advocacy for general practice across London.
Dr Mbema has been commended by colleagues for the work that she been part of leading to strengthen relationships between the public health team, GPs and local community organisations.

Dr Mbema’s work throughout Lewisham has always prioritised integrated approaches to health improvement – particularly when tackling inequalities. Her dedication has helped to shape innovative programmes that put residents’ wellbeing front and centre.
Cllr Paul Bell, Lewisham’s Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Care, said:
“My heartfelt congratulations to Catherine. This award is a testament to her tireless commitment to public health and her ability to bring partners together for the benefit of our residents. Her leadership, compassion and determination over the past few years have made a real and lasting difference in Lewisham.”
