Modal filters on Silverdale and Bishopsthorpe Road

Modal filters are in place on Silverdale and Bishopsthorpe Road to prevent through-traffic on these roads

Modal filters are traffic restrictions which prevent through-traffic on certain streets, helping to reduce the number of car journeys made in the area and encourage walking and cycling. This helps to reduce traffic and congestion, improve road safety, reduce air pollution and lower carbon emissions.

Modal filters are in place on Bishopsthorpe Road and Silverdale. These are camera-enforced restrictions, rather than physical barriers, with access allowed for emergency service vehicles.
