Celebrate Pride 2023
Lewisham is incredibly proud to be the home of diverse LGBTQ+ communities and champions them all year round. Pride Month is an opportunity to reflect on the progress made in the fight for equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community and how far there is still to go. It is also a moment to celebrate LGBTQ+ culture.
There are a wide range of Pride events happening in the borough throughout June and July which we've highlighted below. Please note this is not an exhaustive list. If you know of any activities that should be included – let us know by filling in this form.
Lewisham at Pride in London 2023
Lewisham Council will be marching in the Pride in London Parade on Saturday 1 July. It starts at 12 noon at Hyde Park and retraces the first London Pride march from 1972. Everybody's invited to come and support us as we take to the streets of Central London. For further information, visit the London Pride Website.

Saturday 17 June
Catford LGBT+ Cabaret

Catford LGBT+ Cabaret will be an exciting evening of live entertainment in a variety show format with the all so special ‘seasoning’ that makes South London so unique.
It’s the perfect excuse to get together, pop some bubbly, and meet other LGBT+ folk and allies, all whilst enjoying an evening of entertainment from powerhouse performers who represent the diverse tapestry that makes up South London’s beautiful queer community.

Up Close and Her-sonal

An intimate evening with some of London’s finest drag stars featuring performances, personal accounts of drag history and inspiration, and a celebration of all things queer. Come and listen to the stories behind the personas, ask your own questions, and party with us until midnight. Hosted by the truly fabulous That Girl.

Broadway Drag Bingo

Saturday 1 July
A Fairie Tale

Audiences are invited to indulge in this original piece of storytelling from Niall Moorjani, directed by Minnie Wilkinson. The show explores Scottish race and gender identities through a medieval inspired landscape, re-imagining the folk classic Thomas the Rhymer. Set to live cello music from Diana Redgrave, expect an evening of strangeness, sexy fairies and swearing. This is storytelling at its experimental best.

Catford Pride

Catford Pride is back for a second year. Head to Catford Mews to celebrate everything that makes you, you! Enjoy family friendly activities, a queer makers market, live performances, street food vendors and more.
