Recognising and reporting child abuse

We all have a role to play to keep children and young people safe. Find out what to do if you suspect a child is being abused or neglected.  

Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)

All referrals to children’s social care are first dealt with by Lewisham's Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).

Lewisham Safeguarding Children’s Partnership

The Lewisham Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) is a statutory multi-agency organisation that brings together local agencies that work to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in Lewisham.

Childrens social care safeguarding service

We have a statutory responsibility for assessing, supporting and safeguarding children and young people.

Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)

The LADO is responsible for managing all child protection allegations made against staff and volunteers who work with children and young people in Lewisham.
