COVID-19 restrictions in Lewisham

Find out about the current COVID-19 restrictions.

Lewisham is in a National lockdown: Stay at home restrictions.

This is because there is a rapid increase in infections for COVID-19 across the country and it is necessary to introduce further restrictions to help stop the spread of the virus.

What you can and can’t do during the national lockdown

You should only leave your house for limited reasons permitted in law, including:

  • to shop for basic needs like food
  • to seek medical assistance or avoid injury, illness or risk of harm (including domestic abuse)
  • for medical reasons, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person
  • for exercise, either alone or with those you live with or in your support bubble (this should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area)
  • for work, only if you cannot work from home.
