Short breaks

Short breaks are a way of giving parents/ carers a break from their caring responsibilities. Short breaks can also benefit the disabled child or young person.

What are short breaks

All parents/carers benefit from breaks from caring for their child from time to time, regardless of whether their child is disabled.

Types of short breaks

We provide or fund three different types of short break services: universal, targeted, and specialist.
