Lewisham infrastructure delivery plan (IDP)

The Council’s new Local Plan was adopted in July 2025 and covers the 20-year period from 2020 to 2040. The accompanying IDP identifies the different types of infrastructure, facilities and services that will be required to support the growth planned within the Borough over the long-term. It helps the Council and its partners prioritise and direct infrastructure investment in line with the spatial strategy set out in the Local Plan, recognising that Lewisham is an integral part of London. 

Infrastructure is the large-scale public services, systems and facilities that are necessary to support the social and economic activity of the borough. It includes power and water supplies, public transport, telecommunications, roads, schools and hospitals.

The IDP is under continuous review and is treated as a ‘live’ document that is updated annually

• 2024 IDP - This was prepared to inform the Local Plan Examination

• 2023 IDP - Submission version (framework document) which accompanied the Local Plan Submission and was the first stage in the preparation of the IDP, and established the context, scope, format, methodology, governance and delivery arrangements that are to be adopted.
