Using the eLibrary

Our 24-hour eLibrary gives you access to a wide range of books, audiobooks, magazines, newspapers, films, concerts and courses.
Libraries services

Limited services are available at Hub and Community Libraries due to COVID-19 restrictions. Find out more about changes to our library service.

We are keeping COVID-secure measures in place across our buildings to protect our staff, residents and visitors

Please continue to wear a face covering if you can and maintain social distance in our buildings. This includes our libraries, leisure centres and learning centres.

You can read the Government's current COVID-19 guidlines on its website.

All you need is a library card and PIN, which you get when you join the library. If you do not know your PIN you can ask at your local library or email libraries@lewisham.gov.uk.

Read an eBook or listen to an eAudiobook 

eBooks are books you can read with your computer, phone, tablet or eReader. 

eAudiobooks are books that you can listen to on your computer, phone, tablet, or MP3 player.

The service is completely free. You can borrow 10 titles for up to three weeks, there are no loan charges and loans automatically expire at the end of the lending period so there are no late fees.

To get started borrowing eBooks or eAudiobooks on your devices, download the Libby app for eBooks and eAudiobooks or download the BorrowBox app for eAudiobooks.

To read an eBook or listen to an eAudiobook all you need is your library card number and PIN.

Read a magazine online

Our free magazine service lets you read your favourite magazines on your smartphone, tablet or computer. As long as you have a library card, it's really easy to get started and there are no limits on how many you may borrow.

To borrow magazines and newspapers on your devices, download the apps:

The first time you use the app you will be asked to create an account. Type in your library card number and follow the instructions. You then have unlimited access to hundreds of newspapers and magazines from sport to space, entertainment to homes and there are never any late fees.

Read a newspaper online

Read over 2,000 newspaper titles, from over 100 different countries, free of charge on your desktop or browser. Just click the link above and enter the barcode number on your library card to get started.

Read comics online

Read over 1500 comics and Graphic Novels from Marvel, Disney, IDW and Dark Horse free of charge with your library card.

Watch concerts online

 Watch streaming video using our subscriptions to Stingray Qello.

 With Qello you can stream full-length concerts and music documentaries.

To access these services, sign into your RB Digital account, then click on Stingray Qello. You will receive a pass for 7 days which you can renew as often as you want.

Access our online reference library services

We have 17 online reference services which include business databases, encyclopedias, dictionaries, academic papers, and historical newspapers, most of which can be accessed remotely.

Access online courses and the great courses

The Great Courses Library Collection is the leading global media brand for lifelong learning and personal enrichment, with hundreds of courses spanning thousands of in-depth video lectures on subjects like maths, science, photography, technology, personal development and much more.

To access the great courses, sign into your RBDigital account, then click on the great courses. You will receive a pass for seven days which you can renew as often as you want.
