Library services during COVID-19

Our libraries are currently only open for click and collect due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Opening times

Hub Libraries

Deptford Lounge, Downham Libraries, and Lewisham Libraries

Deptford Lounge and Downham Libraries are now open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10am–4pm.

From Tuesday 7 June Lewisham Library will be open on Tuesday and Thursday from 10am–4pm.

All libraries are open for Click and Collect. We are also offering bookable PCs and study space at Deptford, Downham and Lewisham. There will be 3 PCs and 3 study desks available at each library. These will be bookable online, by email or by phone. Slots are 45 mins. long for Study Tables and PCs – with 15 mins. Between each booking. Users can book 1 slot per day up to 2 days in advance. Printing will also be available with payment through PRINCH - payment is by Debit/Credit card or PayPal only.

You can request books for collection at Deptford, Downham and Lewisham Libraries.

Use our library catalogue to search for your favourite title and click on Place Hold.

Email us at libraries@lewisham.gov.uk providing the author and title of the book you require and your name and barcode number.

Call us on 020 8314 8024 and leave a clear message with author, title, and your name, barcode number and telephone number.

We will ring you back to let you know when and where you can pick up your book(s) from.

To pick up your reservation you will still need your library card.

Pick up a Lucky Dip

We have preselected some small bundles of books in major genres, such as Crime, Science Fiction, Historical Drama, Comics, etc.

All you need to do is visit one of our libraries and pick it up. To pick up your bundle of books you will still need your library card.

You can book a PC or desk to use at Deptford and Downham Libraries.
