Council tax deductions from your earnings

If your council tax is overdue, we can contact your employer and ask them to deduct it directly from your salary. This is called an ‘attachment of earnings order’.

Your employer will receive an attachment of earnings order if we decide recover the unpaid amount from your wages. The amount taken from your salary will depend on how much you earn.
