How our new parking policy has affected parking permit prices

Our updated parking policy aims to make the borough greener by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality.

Following a consultation with residents, we have launched a new parking policy. The Mayor and Cabinet agreed on 15 January 2020 to implement the revised parking policy which came into effect on 1 April 2020.

Work out if your parking permit price has changed

We have introduced an emissions-based parking scheme which means that vehicles with higher emissions are charged a higher permit price. In line with the Air Quality Act and Climate Emergency Action Plan, on 3 April 2023, we introduced a Band 0 for electric vehicles.

From 1 April 2024, we have increased the price of our parking permits by 7.7%, in line with inflation.

Find out the revised cost of your parking permit with our permit calculator tool. All you need is your vehicle registration number.

Visitor vouchers

Every household which has at least one paid annual parking permit will be provided with 10 hours of visitor parking credit for free, accessible via online or mobile device.

Visitor vouchers can be purchased by residents without owning a parking permit, but we may still want proof of address to verify your details. You can buy visitor vouchers on our online permit system.

Residents who would like to buy extra visitor parking credit can do so virtually via our parking permits system, or via our team on 020 8787 5397, or via email: lewishamparkingpermits@nslservices.co.uk.

Please note that our prices have changed as of 3 April 2023, in line with the Air Quality Act and Climate Emergency Action Plan.
