Free digital devices or internet access during COVID-19

Some children and young people can get a laptop or tablet through their local authority.

The children and young people who will be prioritised are ones who do not have access to a digital device and are:

  • care leavers
  • children and young people aged 0–19 with a social worker.
  • Young people who are in year 10 and:
    • Are looked after
    • Are eligble for free school meals
    • Have parents in the armed forces.

Free internet access for those who don't have it

Internet access will be provided to:

  • care leavers
  • young people aged 11–19 with a social worker
  • Young people who are in year 10 and:
    • Are looked after
    • Are eligble for free school meals
    • Have parents in the armed forces.

If they do not already have an internet connection.

If you are eligible you be will contacted by us or your child's school to discuss this.

Schools, parents and pupils can not apply for internet access or digital devices themselves.
