Lewisham Council and Windrush

We have promised to support the Windrush generation.

The Windrush generation are pioneers who have contributed to every part of life in the UK, making it a richer and more diverse country.

We are proud that 12% of Lewisham’s population is from a Black Caribbean background.

The Council’s motion

On 3 October 2018 we passed a full Council motion to call for an independent enquiry into the Windrush scandal.

We agreed to support Windrush individuals and their families.
