Shaping the future for Beckenham Place Park

The park has huge potential to be a thriving park, a taste of the country in an urban environment, and to encourage thousands of people to get active and enjoy the outdoors.

In 2014, we submitted a stage 1 bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for the regeneration of Beckenham Place Park through the Parks for People programme.

The Heritage Lottery Fund's Parks for People programme is focused on getting more local people to use regenerated open spaces.

The HLF approved the bid and earmarked £4.9m to invest in Beckenham Place Park. We worked up designs for the park with local people and submitted our final stage 2 bid to the Fund in August 2016.

We are now on site carrying out extensive restoration of the landscape and historic buildings, which will be complete in spring 2019.
