What information we collect

We need to collect various information in relation to offences reported (including witness and suspect details). We also need to collect information from applicants who wish to be licensed for forecourt street trading.

It is possible to report offences anonymously, but information will often still be obtained in relation to others. However, under normal circumstances, witness details are usually required to allow an investigation to take place.

The team accepts debit and credit card payments over the telephone for fixed penalty notices and forecourt licence fees. We do not store card details locally.

Information kept locally by the service is:

  • name

  • address

  • telephone number

  • mail addressmail address

  • National Insurance Number (Licence Applicants).
