Keeping older people safe and independent (Community Connections Lewisham)

Vulnerable older people (as well as any 18+ vulnerable adults) can get connected with local services that will help them maintain their independence, safety and wellbeing.

About the service

Community Connections Lewisham (CCL) is a service delivered by Age UK Lewisham and Southwark.

It is a single point of contact with the various services and organisations in Lewisham that help older people stay safe and independent.

Who the service is for

Adults in Lewisham who need help with:

  • health and wellbeing

  • mental resilience

  • social inclusion and decreased isolation

  • financial inclusion

  • fire safety and wider home security issues

  • personal safety and security

  • IT support and digital inclusion

  • accessing community transport schemes.

Who can make a referral

People who can make a referral include:

  • you can refer yourself

  • relatives and friends of older people

  • professionals working with older people and vulnerable adults.

How to refer

The quickest way to refer yourself or another person is by calling the CCL Helpline on 0330 0583 464. This is open Monday-Friday from 9:30am4pm (except on Thursdays when it closes at 1pm).
